  • Can I walk my dog in Taichung Metropolitan Park?

Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park does not prohibit you to walk your dog in the park. However, in order to maintain public safety and a clean environment, please do “walk your dog on a leash, and clean up the poo.” When walking your dog please clean up after your dog to keep the park clean and safe for other visitors.

 

  • Can I ride a bike or electric vehicle in Taichung Metropolitan Park? Can I ride a scooter or drive a car around the park?

Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park has laid out routes and designated lanes for cycling. Non-designated areas are marked with ‘no-entry’ signs. With the exception of authorized staff, riding or driving electric vehicles, scooters or cars is not allowed in the park.

 

  • Can I pay my Taichung Metropolitan Park parking fees at convenience stores?

Answer: As off 1 April, 2012, you can pay your parking fees at 7-Eleven convenience stores.

 

  • Can I fly kites in Taichung Metropolitan Park?

Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park has two designated areas for flying kites: one on the Sun Meadow on the west side, the other at the Moon Gazing Corridor on the east side. Anywhere else in the park it is not permitted to fly kites for the safety of other visitors.

 

  • How do I report damage or malfunction of Taichung Metropolitan Park facilities?

Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park has a system to report and repair damaged facilities. Dedicated staff, volunteers and alternative service personnel patrol and inspect the park and fill out patrol report forms whenever they find something that needs repairing. If you encounter a damaged facility or have a suggestion, please call Tel (04) 2461-2483, or go to http://taichungmp.cpami.gov.tw/, click ‘contact us’ and fill out the form; or send a note by mailing to No.140, Ln. 1215, Duhuiyuan Rd., Xitun Dist., Taichung City 407, Taiwan (R.O.C.).

 

  • Is it allowed to have a picnic or BBQ, or set up a tent in Taichung Metropolitan Park?

Answer: (1) Visitors are welcome to have a picnic in the park. However, it is not allowed to have a BBQ or cook with gas, in order to prevent fire hazard and protect the park’s trees, lawns and facilities. If you wish to eat hot food, please bring your prepared food in an insulated container, and do keep the park clean. (2) To maintain the park’s esthetics and quality it is not allowed to set up tents, windbreaks or beach shelters in the park.

 

  • I would like to perform on the Holiday Performance Plaza as an artist. How do I apply?

Answer: If you wish to perform on the Holiday Performance Plaza, please contact the Taichung Metropolitan Park management at Tel (04)2461-2483. To find out more and to download the form, please go to the Taichung Metropolitan Park website http://taichungmp.cpami.gov.tw/.

 

  • I would like to discover Taichung Metropolitan Park with a guide. How do I make a reservation?

How to make a reservation:
1. Please go to the Taichung Metropolitan Park website http://taichungmp.cpami.gov.tw/, click service items, and fill out the reservation form two weeks before your intended visit (we need to find a volunteer guide for you, this takes some time).
2.After the management has viewed your request, you will be notified by telephone or email.
*The number of participants for this service is limited to one to four groups of a maximum of 20 persons each. You’ll have to stay in the park for at least two hours (each tour takes 60-90 minutes).
*time slots for pre-arranged tours:
Tuesdays to Sundays 9:00-11:00 and 14:00-16:00 hours (this includes a tour and movie viewing; the visitor center is closed on Mondays).

 

  • I would like to watch the Taichung Metropolitan Park’s movie. How do I make a reservation?

*Answer: We offer movie viewings at fixed times, for up to 45 visitors. Admission is free of charge. Movie screening times are as follows:

Weekdays: (Tuesdays through Fridays) 10:30, 11:30, 14:00, 16:00 (closed on Mondays)
Holidays (Saturdays and Sundays): 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00

*To make reservations for groups of over 20 persons, please note the following:
1. Available time slots: Tuesdays through Fridays: 11:00 and 15:30 hours. On holidays movie viewings for groups are not available, please see the regular movie viewings.
2. Reservations;
(1) Please go the Taichung Metropolitan Park website http://taichungmp.cpami.gov.tw./, click service items and fill out the form two weeks in advance.

  • How do I become a volunteer with Taichung Metropolitan Park?

Answer: From time to time, Taichung Metropolitan Park recruits volunteers through publicizing its volunteer training program. After an open selection, initial screening and an interview you will be notified of the result. If you’ve passed the interview you will need to take training and do an internship. After a positive evaluation you will be an official volunteer of Taichung Metropolitan Park.

 

  • Where can I buy Taichung Metropolitan Park’s publications?

Answer: Taichung Metropolitan Park’s publications are government publications, and may be purchased from the regular government publication outlets. Currently there are two outlets: Wunan Culture Square and GovBooks Songjiang store:

  • Which bus stops at Taichung Metropolitan Park?

Answer: On holidays Taichung Bus line 146 goes to Taichung Metropolitan Park, running from Xinmin High School, via Taichung Railway Station, along Taichung Metropolitan Park, toward its terminal station at Yuandong Street near the park. Officially the bus doesn’t stop at Taichung Metropolitan Park, but when boarding the bus you may ask the driver to drop you off at Taichung Metropolitan Park. For your return journey, there are buses at fixed times running from Taichung Metropolitran Park to Xinmin Senior High School once every hour from 7:55 until 17:55 hours.
